Air Conditioning Tips

- Change the air filters at the start of the season and again about halfway through, more often if you are in a dusty area.
- Washing leaves and dirt off the outside of the unit with a moderate water spray will save electricity and increase the unit's capacity
- Keeping the cooling thermostat in the 75 degree range will usually be the most comfortable. On a warm and muggy day you may want to go lower, depending on your activity and clothing.
- Don't let the house build up to 90 degrees or more, then expect it to cool off quickly. The unit may take many hours to cool and remove humidity from the air and the furnishings.
- Consider installing a clock thermostat so that your air conditioner doesn't run 24 hours a day
