One Million Is A Good Number, Too

Over the years, there have been several articles in Comfort Line about underground oil tanks. (Autumn 1998, Summer 2001). These articles are available on our website at www.hartandiliff.com. If you are concerned about your underground tank, we suggest the following options:

  1. Make sure your tank is covered by our ProGuard Environmental & Tank Protection Plan. This program provides $100,000 of environmental cleanup coverage to your property, and $2,000 of tank replacement coverage, in the event of a leak.
  2. Consider removing your underground tank and replacing it with a tank in the basement or garage of your home. In this instance, we recommend the use of the Roth Double Wall Safety Tank. This tank is manufactured in Europe, and there are over 30 million in service. The inner tank is made of seamless blow molded polyethylene and the outer tank is made of galvanized steel.

When you compare the Roth tank to a standard steel tank, there is no contest. Although the Roth tank costs only about 20% more, the difference in quality is striking, as illustrated by the difference in the manufacturers’ warranties. The warranty on a steel tank is one year, tank replacement only. The warranty on the Roth Tank is ten years, including $1 million of environmental cleanup coverage. As always, if you would like more information, call us or visit our website.
